Hi Guys, my horses mane has been ruined by the nice warm rugs. Has any one tried any lotions or postions which work? I always feed the best feed and suppliments, and need a quick result. Mandy

Paula I found the same with MTG, just burned some of her skin away !
How much of the Cornucrescine do you rub in? I presume you are rubbing it in to her mane and not feeding it via the hoof !

One of my daughters ponies rubbed out some mane last year when we were on holiday and i used the MTG which also burned the skin and made it worse
I'm affraid there are no quick fixes you just have to wait until it grows back in |

I find megatrek to be really good to help with manes that have been rubbed out, it even smells really nice, Unlike the MTG that smells absolutely vile!!! |

I use cornucrecine too with good effect on hair loss. It's relatively cheap too. Just rub in onto area until covered few times a week.

Hi
Can't help with the growing back, but Cinny's old combo used to really rub her mane out.
This winter bought her a JHL combo and for the first time the mane hasn't rubbed out - so just a matter of trial and error finding a rug that doesn't rub...

Completly agree with Mega Tek!!
Bought a bottle a week ago and already his rug rubs on his chest have almost disappered - smell is lush!! Apparently was invented for hair loss in humans who had been under going treatment for chemo - tried MTG without good results and smell was vile
Will most definately use and recommend Mega Tek again - also works just as well am told if diluted with water to make it last longer!!

Hi Jen,
yes i rub into her mane, quite alot its quite sticky, but the improvement in just a week is amazing, she has gone from no mane and i mean she looked bridlepathed all the way down to about 6-7inches of mane in 3-4 weeks. |

i dont ever use neck covers on my rugs, as i have found that they can rug manes out easier than the horses rubbing them themselves. |

My mare's combo rug rubbed her mane out last winter, so we started using a showing hood underneath it (with the head part cut off as she didn't like wearing it daily in the field) and it stopped mane being rubbed out straight away.
With regards to it growing back, I fed her seaweed which seemed to help with hair growth, still even with this help it has taken just over a year to grow back to the proper length!! |
