that was the title of an article (written by Francis Atkinson) in the horse deals magazine this month. I heartily applaud Francis as a great ambassador for the Arabian breed. she does so much to explain the intelligence and sensitivity of our breed, if I may quote a few lines " There is always a price to pay for impatience in training the Arabian, perhaps more than others, show distinct signs of tension when its being handled or trained badly" another quote " the fact that they think quickly, are so kind and learn good ( and not so good ) habits very fast makes them special and particularly interesting to produce " I hope this article is read by Arabian and none Arabian lovers alike and may help them to understand what is glaringly obvious to us believers in the breed!

I will be buying a copy too, and passing it to some non-believers!
I am looking for a horse, having lost my mare in the New Year, and everyone around me who has horses is trying to dissuade me from buying another arab "never known a good one" "not versatile" "too unpredictable". It's actually getting me quite stressed, and I even found myself scrolling through the cobs, connemaras and new forests on HorseMart yesterday - lovely ponies, but all lacking that special something! Hopefully this article will help me express what I haven't been able to say myself so far! |

Susie, sorry to hear you lost your mare. Dont listen to those non believers!!! Nothing compares to owning an Arabian - but hey you know this already. Good luck with finding your next one...or them finding you! |

I'd love another visit Madeleine, if anything is going to re-confirm that arabs are the way to go - it is your beautiful babies! I love the picture of Sanarah on the Sales page, I wish she was a bit older!!
I have found with my horsey friends that if another breed of horse spooks or does something silly it is "because they are young" or "because they are a moody horse", not because they are a New Forest / TB / ID cross etc, but if an arab behaves naughtily once in a while it is "because they are an arab". I wonder where this prejudice about arabs stemmed from ...? |

Sorry to say , but the prejudice stems from Ignorance, so the only answer to that is...... EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION (what politician said that ?) |

I'm a novice rider and when I went off to look at a 4 year old arab many people told me I was mad - best decision I've ever made Not only does he look good and move really well but he tries really hard and has a gorgeous nature So many people have said they had no idea arabs 'could be like that'. My dressage instructor told me that she hugely enjoys teaching us because Jamie is so quick on the uptake and really just needs to be shown something once - note she said the horse was bright and not me lol In my experience Jamie is pretty typical of the breed. |

As I read on here once, 'It takes a special person to own an Arabian horse as they are too intelligent for the average horse owner'. |
