Just wondering if anyone on here has any info on my new mare Comets Shadow? We picked her up this evening from a guy in the south of Ireland. She has done nothing except have foals for the past 5, maybe 6 years so we're hoping to give her a bit of a break from all that. She is bay, about 14.3hh and born in 1997. She was bred in Cork, Ireland. Her sire was Shariko and her dam Djammella. I know from an earlier post that she has a % of crabbett - would be great if somebody knowledgeable could calculate that for me as I haven't a clue!

I have her son- Halals Shadow!!!! I have been trying to find some pic's of her for ages!
I can put you in touch with someone who can tell you a bit more about her I could PM you her e.mail address if you like? she is in Dublin and knew the man that bred her very well.
Here is her beautiful son-who I adore! the gentlest kindest boy I have ever come across
He is a big boy he is 16hh, his sire is Halal. He is 85% crabbet, I am sure someone on here will tell you her percentage!
Would love to have some pic's of his mum!

Well, Halal is with us this year. He's 100% Crabbet, so if Hal, Halal's Shadow, is 85% crabbet that would make Comet's Shadow 70%.

Thanks Bex and Sirius for your posts (I could never have worked the % out, embarrassing but true!).
Halal's Shadow is absolutely stunning - I can't believe that's Amy's son! She's only 14.3, but strongly built. Did he come from Ireland - Arabs are such a rare find over here?
I would love to hear more from the lady you know Bex, so if you'd pm me her email address that'd be great.
Your boy must take after his mum...she is the kindest, gentlest mare I've ever met, a real sweetheart. I will post some pics in the next few days...she only weaned her last foal 2 weeks ago, according to the man I bought her off, so I'd like to see her with a bit more condition on.
I want to give her a break from having babies, but would love to breed a foal for myself one day .....having seen Halal's Shadow, I'd be very tempted to use Halal again. They certainly produce gorgeous children! |

Thanks for your nice comments on Hal
Yes he did come over from Ireland it will be 3 years ago this summer, he was 3 when he came over, I flew over to Dublin to see him one weekend fell in love with him and he arrived the weekend after!
If you are thinking of breeding again with her one day her and Halal obviously make a fantastic cross!
Halal is very gentle and kind too, Dom and Jan (Seren Arabians)has some lovely pic's of him on their website.
I look forward to seeing your pic's!

WE ALMOST BOUGHT HER,THE MAN WAS GOING TO BRING HER ON THE THURDAY AS YOU BEAT US TO IT ON THE SUNDAY,ONLY FOUND OUT BY SEEING YOUR POST ON HERE,DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO RING US AND LET US KNOW.STILL GLAD SHE WENT TO A GOOD HOME SOUNDS LIKE SHE WELL LOVED.ALL THE BEST JO. |
