Well after all of the ups and downs with my other TB mare the sensible one has produced a nice foal today 24/01 at 2.30am 5 days late and a filly but very pretty.
Here are some pics, when in the turnout barn this morning.

Well done all.......very smart filly and Mum has done her well looks to have super limbs. Have you bred her for racing?? if so, who is her sire, just out of interest
Congrats on her safe arrival

Thank you for the nice comments.
Babs R, yes she is bred for racing, by a son of Danehill Dancer, Misu Bond. The mare is by the Derby winner Kahyasi and has already bred winners. |

Thanks for your lovely comments. She is very sweet. Her head is so small we don't have a headcollar on the stud to fit her! I think I will have to find a pony foal one.
She has been colicky on and off and I will be happier once she is more comfortable
Hoping to get her out a bit tomorrow and will take some more pics. She has been cantering around the barn and even bucking, all without falling over! Very balanced for a newborn |

Only just caught this thread - I love your mare !! When I see thoroughbred mares it always makes me want one again. We acquired one as a companion many, many years ago. She was such a classy looking animal. I knew little about her, her registered name was No Fishing !! She had no stable name and I was struggling to think of anything off her 'proper' name although my Dad called her Trout !! She ended up being called Lola......whatever Lola wants, Lola gets.........after the song !! |

I love your mare too! The filly looks fab I hope she wins first time out when she's a big girl! I remember her Dad racing a few years ago. I would love a thoroughbred mare to breed from..! |

Thank you for your lovely comments about the mare and foal. That mare is my OH's favourite, he combs her mane out each evening and even feeds her biscuits! Thats almost unheard of,
I haven't seen the foal for 3 weeks as she is in Ireland with her mum, but I spoke to the stud yesterday and they like her. They said she was a bonny foal and what a lovely personality
Unfortunately the mare was scanned empty yesterday so she will be re-covered the end of this week.
Here are some pics taken the day she went to Ireland
Delyth, I looked for your mare No Fishing but couldn't find any records of her. |

Jamana,
Yes I do follow racing! I like both the flat and the jumps. I am really looking forward to watching some of cheltenham on the tv this week. I wish I could go there the atmosphere must be great. Must try and get up to date with some form! I don't bet much but I will have a bit of a flutter next week!
Lucky you being able to breed racehorses! x |

One of ours is running at Cheltenham on Fri, The Betchworth Kid. He is one of ours inasmuch as he was bred here at the stud, my OH foaled him and we prepped him for yearling sales, so although I am not the technical breeder of him he still feels like one of 'ours'
Another one of 'ours' (same situation as above, though I prepped him myself ) was a good horse from a few years ago you might remember, Firebreak? |
