Hi. Does anyone know of breeders in Crook who owned Ludovic and Rissella II in 1980's. Any info greatly appreciated.

According to stud directory 1983/4 both were with Mr & Mrs SW Atkinson. Ludovic is also listed with Greta Falls Arabian Stud in Lancashire if that is any help.

Hi. It was Atkinson's who bred my mare. Was wondering if about any relations to her that my be around at all. Was Ludovic at Greta Falls before or after 1984 do you know?

Sorry 1984 is the earliest stud directory I have, neither horse is listed in later directories or even the return of mares book I have for 1987. The only progeny listed in later books is Mr Ludriss b1977 from Schazell Arabians, Lancashire.

I have an old 1971 Stud Directory and it would seem from that Ludovic must have been bred by the Wrights at Moulton Arabian Stud in Norfolk as both his parents are listed there.
Risella 11 (Indriss/Efinella) - Indriss in 1971 was with Sky Arabians (The Marchioness of Townshend) but she is not listed in the Directory so must have been born between 1971 and 1983/4. |

Rissella II had several foals:
1973 - Cobie ch colt by Kefir bred by Mrs P Ellwood
1974 - Emilie ch filly by Kossak General " "
1976 - dead foal
1977 - Mr Ludriss ch colt by Ludovic bred by Mr and Mrs S W Atkinson
1978 - Rydal ch colt by Ludovic " "
1979 - Musichal Echo ch colt by Ludovic
1980 - chestnut colt -by Fire Gold not registered
1981 - chestnut colt by Fire Gold " "
1983 - chestnut filly (died) by Fire Gold
1984 - Ludanella ch filly by Ludovic bred by Mrs S Atkinson
Mr Ludriss had 6 foals - 3 of those had offspring, some could be around and breeding now! |

the Brogdan's were in cumbria with their Beacon arabian stud, in Penrith, which in the 80- 90 's housed such wonderful names as ( off the top of my head) such as Ghibli, Tarantara, Selinda, some of the indira family i believe, cant remember any more but if i do i will add them in lol  |

I purchased Roxzella from Mr Septamus Atkinson from Crook some 20 years ago - she is now owned by Lesley Skipper and is by Roxan out of Firefairy - he also bred one of my first stallions Kareef El Kayam, by Khaymakan out of Frelou Kassiopi, they were retiring from breeding around this time.
