Just thought i would share with you all! I have done it i have fallen off!!!
We were riding over one of the feilds at the back of the yard, some stupid person had there dog off the lead, (witch iv'e got nothing against) but it had never seen a horse and just went for Merlin's right front leg!! (Didn't grab her luckliy)
Her reared and spun round and kick out, at wich point i fell off.
I have hurt my hand and my side but apart frm that im fine! Merlin is fine to! I think he panicked a bit.
It was a bit of a mission, to get back on!! But i manged it!

I don't blame him! I would high tail it out of there too if a dog was after me, so at least you fell off through no fault of either of yours
Well done for getting back on!!! I fell off for the first time in about 15 years riding my friends horse at a dressage comp last March - he bounced up and down like Tigger and bounced me straight off It is so hard to get back on, but it has to be done |

Oh Dear!!! poor merlin he must have been so worried! and poor you i bet you will be nursing a few aches and pains for a while. It is always a worry when a dog is loose as like you say not all of them have seen a horse. |

Well done for getting back on. Its always teh hardest bit!
I have a broken finger at the minute from a naughty colt we have on livery knocking me down and standing on my hand!
I feel some days that i am getting to old.
Hope your soon on the mend.

Oh Meg, glad you and Merlin are ok and well done for getting back on. I can't get on from the ground now with my dogey hips and knees so i have a long walk home if i fall off... Have a warm bath with lots of bubbles in and a relaxing afternoon.
I'm dreading getting back on Ozzy after nearly 3 weeks off. Last time we rode he was chased by a dog and that was while we were riding on the road..... I'm sure he is going to be a little on the 'sharp' side to say the least.....!
