So sorry to read this sad news. You will feel better in time and remember how wonderful she was. I lost my beautiful stallion Crystal Raj in Oct 2002 , found in the field with a broken leg for no apparent reason. I was devastated for a very long time but now I look back and think how lucky I was to have had this wonderful boy and I remember with a smile all the pleasure he gave us. Also a tear too......
I am so very sorry for your loss. Don't torture yourself by thinking you could have prevented this terrible accident. You obviously loved her dearly. I hope in time your memories of her will bring a smile to your face. She is running free with the Angels for company. xxxx
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your mare like this. My mother and I witnessed our 14 month old Arab gelding breaking his hind leg in a fall in the field, and I know how utterly heart-breaking it is to lose them this way. I read the poem you posted, changed the she to he, etc, and have soaked my keyboard in tears. *hugs* to you, Susie.
