Well today was a complete pain! The snow was that bad that had fallen over night along with the wind, that I couldn't get out of our driveway...........it wasn't just that it was a little bit deep, oh no, try 3' deep in the drifts!
My Oh tried to get my trusty Discovery out, but only managed to get about 75m out of the yard before he hit problems. Even in low ratio there was no hope!! My boss didn't seem very sympathetic and I suspect she thinks I'm at it.......What do you think?!
This is my OH taking yet another walk up the driveway to see if the main road has been ploughed yet.
What happens when you fall into a snow drift!!! This one is in my big field (The horses are not in there at the moment!) and YES my OH is standing up!!!!!
This was our attempt at digging ourselves out.......we only managed to get so far and it was fast becoming a lost cause. It was getting deeper as we went on. Maybe we'll try more tomorrow.
The horses on the other hand had a ball (when I eventually relented and turned them out for a couple of hours!)

Awww beautiful photos! Love the one of Merlyn! Your foal is still looking black - what did you call him in the end (was it Amir?) |

It's fast losing it's appeal though. 3 weeks of hard work and misery makes you hate snow!!
Miska, I called him Maverick in the end. He is going to go grey eventually as he has a few grey hairs around his eyes, but I think it make take a few years! |

Oh wow what wonderful photos!
Did you send them to your work? Don't think anyone could accuse you of swinging the lead after seeing those !

WOW! Fabulous snow! I agree though, it IS hard work and it's going to get harder once the snow goes. All that accumulated poo in my field is going to take me weeks to get rid of, groan. Lovely pics anyway, beautiful horses. Ros |
