I have been looking around at all the different sites to see whats on the market for sale and the interesting thing is horses are still fetching quite a bit of money, there has been lots of posts here and on other sites about horses going to market etc, but from what I have seen they are still commanding a good pricewhich from my point of view is a good thing as it means that the market is still moving and not quite as bad as one would think I am not in the UK so have to watch the movements of the market, do you agree with me or am I just being optimistic? not that I am looking to sell anything my horses are with me for life PG

i don't see decent horses being offered for stupid money, and you definitely can't pick them up for the prices you could 5 or so years ago so I don't think its too bad, but maybe not so good with ponies. just my opinion though on the small amount of trade I see! |

A friend of mine who works for a dealer, who buys & sells through the marts, has said trade is terrible at the moment, prices are right down & even the meat men arent buying like they used to. I think quality animals will always fetch good money & always sell, sadly its the animals of lesser quality that are being affected, hence ending up at marts or even getting abandoned. We actually have a section C for sale at the moment for really silly money, but he needs to be sold & ive had no interest at all, even with the silly price. I just hope the market picks up again in the spring. |
