I wasn't going to go but........... think I'm going now.
I put his pedigree up on all.breed.

Lurve the Silver Sheen lines - same as my mare in my avator pic.
I normally only get to York between November & Feb due to work.
I went last month & the prices were diabolical.
Will post on here what happens - definitely need to keep my hands in my pockets! OH is coming with me so he'll threaten to cut my hands off if I bid!

If I hadn't enough horses I would have been tempted to buy today.

The story I heard (don't know how correct this is?) is that the owner had the horse transported to the sale & didn't bother going herself to see the horse sold.

What I do know is that when I saw the horse, he had no-one with him, no-one to chat to about him, no tack so you couldn't see him ridden or try him out yourself.
Sadly, he only made 300 guineas & went unsold but I saw the auctioneer take the details of the last bidder to pass details on to the owner?

The horse was a bit grumpy but I think that was understandable being the situation he was in, & being in a long-term loving home would probably help.
I believe this is a well-run auction & what a shame that the owner didn't make use of the facilities there.
Did see an interested AL member there so maybe someone will update if there is a story to tell?
Lisa

Edited to add: just seen the update on the auction website - he was sold for 300 guineas.

If who I saw got him, then I'm sure he'll have a lovely home.
A forever home? - I don't think so?

We saw him and he looked well and was friendly and when we saw him, he wasn't grumpy - he was quite happy and receiving visitors between munches out of his haylage net.

He has gone to a very knowledgeable Arab home - maybe not for life but definitely a responsible person who will take wonderful care of him and will make sure he does go to a forever home.

I think there is a story behind him but I don't know the full details and even if I did, it's not for me to say.

Suffice to say - he is safe, well and going to be taken care of in the best possible way by someone I would be happy for any of my horses to be with.

As an aside, he was so typical of his breeding and wonderful shoulder and cannons (the shortest I have ever seen!), not the best top line but a lovely person and I'm sure he will bring and share happiness in his future home.
