Many years ago I lent my anglo to an eventing friend to hunt after the end of an endurance season where he had been to Belgium amongst other rides He was quite fit but still enjoyed the standing and watching the hounds work as well as the hooleying around. At the age of 27 he still perks up when my youngest is practising her cornet!
Marcus may well be out with the Croome this season. We shall see when he comes home after HOYS.
I hunted Tiger last year (only went to 2 as I had no facilities to keep him fit through the winter :( ) he was FANTASTIC AMAZING SO SO Well behaved!!!!
Never got strong, we also jumped although some things looked alot smaller from the take of side which was rather scary HAHA just never look back at what you have just jumped I nearly died HAHA I don't think I jumped anything else that day hahahaha
some unattractive pics for you from the first time haha
Spot the arab... hint tail
Coming back from an AMAZING day
Loved it, hope to go out this year before he gets his winter holiday :)
I used to hunt my pure bred regularly when I was a teenager (1970s). No-one told me Arabs were too hot or couldn't jump, so I assumed he'd be fine, despite the fact that he was only 5 when he first went out. He was sane, sensible & often had to give others a lead over fences. We never jumped anything big - I was too yellow!
Well since my post last year - my friend with the Icelandic now also has a PBA.
After I was fed several cocktails I have agreed that if we can get round Rockbourne chasers course (as Cinny has got rather good at jumping), we will go blood hound hunting this winter.
Quite excited about it!
