I would just like to agree with all the lovely comments about the show that Mandy, Pam & Liz organised so well, great venue.
Also thank you must go to Khalifa & Michelle for asking me to ride him to success for her. It was a great pleasure to ride him and he was such a good boy all day. (Thank you Mandy for suggesting me to Michelle, sorry I was unable to steward for you after all)
Thank you Debbie for your kind comments and allowing me to take your lovely colt into the ring for you.
Again thank you to all who helped set up a lovely show, you can count on us coming next year hopefully with two horses.
Best wishes Lorna Ewin & Valda Angier

Lovely photos It's raining here today, don't know what it's like in Wales but I think we were lucky with the weather. My boys are happy to be back in their field today . They are very tired! I wish I'd taken their plaits out the day before, I thought the curls would have fallen out by the afternoon! I think they looked like Barbies first pony!!!!Ah well, another thing learnt for next time Both were stressed by the new enviroment even Flame had trouble standing still at times!!Anyone who saw Magic's antics outside the ring before he went in would not believe he was the same calm horse I backed a few weeks ago! I will sort out some photos later but I had a lot of blurry ones to??

While I was just now riding Bryn over the mountain...( having been Mr. Silly at the show, he was in angelic mode today, even when he had to stop mid gallop and stand loose while I rescued a sheep that was trapped and doing a determined effort to break her neck) it occured to me that another fantastic aspect to Sunday's show was, as Debbie commented, many of the horses there also have serious day jobs. To my knowledge for example there were advanced endurance horses, race horses, TREC competitors and happy hackers, not to mention Sealy's transcontinetal journeyings and the fact that at least one of the stallions was an AHS graded performance horse.I am sure that other disciplines were represented too, these are just the ones I happen to know personally.
Wow, Crabbet Arabs ...Versatile and Beautiful
What's more it was lovely to see 28yo Dilmoon absolutely loving all the posing .... really made me smile Cheers Lisa |

also like to echo what a fab show we all had on Sunday a huge thank you and well done to Mandy and all for their superb organising (as always ) a wonderful friendly atmosphere, lovely judges and georgeous Crabbet arabians to whom we owe it all - every single horse at the show was a joy to behold - and the veteren Dilmoon brought tears to my eyes with his willingness to beley his 28 years and how wonderful that these beautiful horses as Lisa has said do other jobs my lad and I enjoyed ourselves even though he was a bit disappointed that the open green space behind the indoor school was actually a golf course and not a race course edited to ad lovely photo's as always Liz

Would also like to agree with all that's been said before. A fantastic show - thanks so much to Mandy, Pam and Liz for all your hard work. It was such a lovely atmosphere, so relaxed and friendly. Just what we needed for Joe's first show and my first experience of in-hand. In fact Joe(Dark Shah) was so laid back he was nearly horizontal.....far less nervous than I was.
Great venue, great weather (thanks for arranging that) - and so many stunningly beautiful horses. I can't wait for next year! Lovely photos by the way Michelle - thanks for posting.
And congrats to everyone who took part.

It sounds a lovely event, sorry it was too far for us to come even to spectate. Some wonderful looking horses - I remember the 'old days' when Crabbets were all shown as fat as mini Percherons: how much better the horses in the pictures are!
Now - will someone please organise a show for Old English/Egyptian crosses that doesn't have any whooping and screaming? We have too much Egyptian and Courthouse to meet Crabbet required percentages, LOL!

I had to go back to work on Tuesday, so haven't had much time to visit AL, I think we're a tad overwhelmed by the response to our little show !
I am so glad that everyone enjoyed it so much, thank you to everyone who has rung and emailed, we will be meeting up next week for a debrief, and have a few idea's to make it even better next year (looks like we'd better run it again ! )
My only regret was not having time to have a proper chat to people I haven't met before, it was lovely to meet you all
See you next year

What lovely pics, shame I couldn't come! Debbie Magic looks fab, growing into a really nice boy!! Maybe it would be nice for 50% Crabbets to be included as well? |
