I'll start off by asking a question - When I confirm which person has got the correct answer they then ask the next question and so on....
Who was the In Hand Supreme Champion Stallion in the 1972 Arab Horse Society Show?

Oh poo Haroun was 'just' stallion champion in 1972 and then supreme in 1974! Well done Lynda! |

Ah I thought it was King Cotton Gold? In the book 40 years of British Arab Horse Champions by Deirdre Hyde he is listed as Junior and Supreme Male Champion 1972? |

Did you mean Supreme male in 1973 then rather than 1972? If that's the case then I think the answer is Achim (turning a page in my book ) |

Wonder what the GRE Trophy is? Might help unravel the mystery.
In the Deidre Hyde book it says
King Cotton Gold
<piccie>
Junior and Supreme Male Champion 1972
Most peculiar? |

Well I'm going to have to give you that one. I have emailed the pic I have to myself as I can't post pics here and will post it later but it clearly states ......... FARI II.
So fire away with a question and whoever gets it right asks another question...... |

Vera , no worries he was the reserve champion so I guess perhaps they got confused , But I am thinking the AHS magazine should be correct. I will pass on the next question if thats ok, maybe you could do another one? |

I've been racking my brains re. the GRE Trophy. At long last the cells have worked! Guardian Royal Exchange used to sponsor the show, or part of it, so that must be the answer! |

King Cotton Gold did go Supreme in 1972, but was not allowed to compete for the Stallion Championship, as he was only a yearling and not considered a stallion. He won the Junior Male and went on to win the Senior Male Championship, and then Supreme.
My sister and I were there, and it was absolutely amazing. I believe that King Cotton Gold was the first yearling colt to take the Supreme since Dargee. |

Stupid me, I have scanned the info I had in as a PDF file. I've spent the last half hour trying to work out how to save it as a .JPG but for some reason my laptop won't have it. It would take about 30 seconds on my PC :-(
