Hi Sue, I saw yesterday on the EGB Forum that the organisers may be putting on an 80k, do you know when this will be decided and if so what will the route/going be like? Is there likely to be much roadwork/hard going on a longer route? Thanks Sue |

Hi Sue, Yes, Just looking at the possiblity of an 80k now(specially for Helen Newton) and waiting to get the verdict on my/measure distance. Might also be a 50k & 40k. I'll keep this posting posted. Some of this route you've ridden before Sue and some is new divert from our favourite farmer...which will take some beating..but there's going to be the bits in the woods where the BW follows the wondering Wharfe and the Sandy City section, and the bit past Lord & lady Hamiltons and the bit where King Charles II was held up in a ditch(1600's)..and some of the good defra, and some of the new defra...some stubble, this is altering all the time and some quiet lane. and a very welcoming reception. And a crew spot at the Pub, they're going to keep two car bays free for water. Will keep you posted...Sue. PS Glad to see your riding, your doing better than me.... |

Sue sorry but i've now entered Sherwood as i'd completely forgotten we have a posh do the night before Cosford so thought it best to give the 80km a miss that week end. Still hope you can put an 80k on for Helen. I may be able to come and help if you're short of helpers let me know. Sue |

What's the camping/coralling situation at the venue? The schedule doesn't give any clues. Also will you be accepting late entries? I don't want to enter until I see how things go at Sherwood - lost too many entry fees this year already. |

There is no camping/corralling at the Venue, but this can be arranged locally. Please contact Helen Watts - details on the Ride Schedule - and she will point you in the right direction.
We are taking late entries but subject of course to the late entry fee if received after the closing date for the competitive classes.
We have now agreed to add 40km, 50km and 80km to the Schedule, which hopefully will encourage lots more entries.

Sue J - Thank you for your offer of help for the Cosford Ride. Very much appreciated. The new distances mean that we will need more help, road crossings etc, but we still have other jobs to fill at the venue. Could you email me please on dilathamhorses@aol.com so that we can discuss further!

I would love to help but there is a chance I will be moving to my new field that weekend. Shantih isn't fit enough to bring anyway, and I haven't been to a ride for ages. If I turn up on the day, will I be needed for help at all? Obviously I can't say for sure if I'll be there until the day before at the earliest so don't want to commit myself and have to let you down. |

Hi Karon
Yes Please! It has been a real struggle to find helpers. This may be because all the usual suspects are riding. That is good though as we have a good number of entries.
If you turn up on the day, we will definitely find you something to do. If you are able to let us know the night before that is great, but you are very welcome without warning! Just come and make yourself known to either Helen or me. Di |

Fantastic ride, lovely going with miles of cantering. Very pleased that Kis (Stagborough Eliza) aged 23 and ridden by my friend Jane got a grade three 32k and my Sundance got a grade one in the 64k class. Definately a ride to go on the calendar next year! |
