Been an idiot the other day, cleo has fallen over on the tarmac. Although she hasn't hurt herself too bad( big dent in EGO), she has taken the hair off her knee. What can I use on it to make sure the hair will grow back? I have just cleaned it up, but it didn't bleed, and put some purple spray on.

I'd put something "greasy" on it to keep the skin supple; although it didn't bleed the skin will probably go dry & scabby - personally I'd use something like Sudocrem (I should get commission - I use it for most things)!
Again anecdotally, but I've never had a problem with hair NOT growing back (and I've had a couple of injuries with Kharidian).

yeah - anything to condition the skin - even cheapo moisturiser from the poundshop (cocoa butter is good) - anything aloe/shea/vitE etc. Nappy rash cream is such a good cure-all! |

Cheers guys, she doesn't seem to have learnt her lesson though. She was busy jumping about again today going out. |

I'm a huge fan of Cornucresin. It has always worked well at hair regrowth on Mini when she has been in the wars.
Don't apply it until the wound has well healed though.
I hope Cleo is OK |

Cleo sounds like a real character! I agree with everyone elses suggestions, the hair usually grows back no problem. Is she grey? As sometimes the hair can grow back white after an injury, but if she didnt actually puncture the skin, this is less likely to happen than if she had (if that makes sense! lol Alethea Aristotle Arabians ********** |

Cleo is totally fine now and the hair has grown back over her knee. I used sudocream on it and it worked a treat. |

Shame it won't work on her brain. She is getting better, she just thinks 2legs are better than 4. |

I'm a fan of Cornucrescin, too, Bex. It's supposed to have the hair grow back the same colour, rather than white from scarring. |

Hehe I feel for you..! My mare has been through the wars and back since I bought her 3 years ago. She jumped a barbed wire fence as a yearling.... she has small scars to prove that... she fell over on the yard and has a hair line scar down one leg... and then 2 years ago she fell over on the tarmac and badly graZed her knee and back fetlocl.... both scarred..!!!! Thankfully... she has been accident free for the past few months... although she does come in with all sorts all the time..!!!! Some horses are born like it i guess :D |
