Sue, Have checked datasource and there is no purebred stallion registered anywhere in this name. I have checked all stud books throughout the world. He was probably a partbred.

Hi Tamila, Thanks for your efforts. I'm wondering if there was a Part Bred Register that far back, any tell me and maybe give it a check. I wonder if there was a spelling mistake and its something similar.
Most of the other horses from this same enquiry and time, I have found in the NPS Polo & Riding pony section and most have turned out to be TB's., many on the small size and recorded as Polo ponies. I'
ve also found 'other blood' so I think it was at the time when many horses were crossed. Found lots of entries from Mrs J Oscar Muntz from around the 1920 - 1930ies...
Thanks Sue

Have checked with NPS, and received the following info:

Mabroud NPS 1058: Grey Stallion 1907 14.2h.h. Owned by Mrs M.W. Muir,Postlip House Winchcombe, Glos.

He was a Polo pony who played in many matches, and was imported from India.

Sorry they have no information regarding pedigree.

Pelle, Thanks for that, Any chance you can list any of his off springs you might find in the NPS for us. I think he had a few.
Thanks Sue

Very interesting to learn about Mabroud.

So sad that so many horses were deemed not arabian back then. My Dad brought 2 mares back from Palestine in the late 1930's, who he also trained to play polo - have to say he said that they were too intelligent. They learnt to follow the ball and hated having to turn away, the only good thing being when he couldn't see the ball they always knew where it was! Not registered as no proof that they were arabian!

We have found a lot of stock by Mabroud and will soon tell you all about them.
There is one very interesting stallion called Aabaan by Mabroud out of dartmoor mare tracing back to the small oriental stallion Sandalwood from indonesia running at dartmoor. Does an yone have the early registers of NPS where a small stallion called Sandalwood is registed? Aabaan was running at Quantock Hills, east side for several seasons.
