Angel & me are entered in the 20 mile LS class tomorrow. She'll be the really chilled out bay arab at the vetting but will magically transform into a firebreathing beastie as soon as the tack goes on
And there was me getting stressed about whether Angel was fit enough to do 20 miles
Good luck, Hopefully it should be a lot cooler this weekend than it's been all week. We've just had the most amazing downpour - the sky went as black as night and then the rain came down that hard it was bouncing a good foot off the floor. It lasted for about 1/2hr
we went on saturday we did 30FS at a whopping 10.4MPH lovely new route and really well marked, was a v v warm day and a lot of horses came in looking rather tired as a result i think the trees held in a lot of the humidity. how did u do?
We didn't go that fast We started really well but neither of us were fit enough to keep it up - we did the 22LS at a very sedate 7+ mph. It took us 3hr 3mins with a finishing HR of 46.
My Garmin packed up part way round so I'd no idea of how long or how far we'd done so ambled our way home thinking we were out of time - dead shocked to be told that we'd come 2nd when I eventually took my bib back
Was a fantastic route though, except for the long stretchs on the yellow brick when it was really, really hot, very twisty and technical in parts but lots of long canters to get your time back on.
I was just happy for Angel to pass the vetting at the end and to be still sound in the morning - shame the same couldn't be said for the rider
