Baz not me! he is very shiny so worried he might fluff and dull, but the weather is so hot he is getting sweaty during day, don't know what to do? Have got full lycra suit, (Baz not me although i'm sure i should have one) that i could put on him

I would bath him, cause there is nothing worse at a show than a sweaty horse where the dirt is coming to the top. Spray him with canter or suchlike and lycra him up, he will be fine!!

Mine's bay too, and also going Saturday - he has a beauiful metallic coat, and could show him without a bath for years, but if it's hot the scurf comes to the top - bath time tomorrow night for my chappie - grey mare's getting hers just before we set off Saturday morning (means a 4am start - )!!

It's the Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil (Soft n Fresh)
Midges hate it, and its a fab light oil for shine, post clipping, highlighter, mane detangler and fly repellent

You can use the dry oil too - just the standard bath oil is good value for money! With 40+ horses we get through loads and add it to fly sprays etc too. Just work it through manes/tails with your fingers, then a hairbrush and knots fall away. Work it into your hands and highlight eyes, bottoms, knees etc with it. It's so handy and we've never had an allergy/burn from it (but have had plenty to baby oik which is claggy and binds up).
Few drops on a soft body brush means you can work it through when they're moulting and its great for lifting any dandruff in those winter months when you can't bath ... Get it on the 2 for 1 about 10 at a time!!
