Hi, I am just after a few opinions please!!

I'm travelling 2 of mine tomorrow and the horse flies are awful at the moment.

It's a journey of 3 hours on the ferry then 2 hours on the road.

Do you think they should have their fly rugs on in the trailer as they wouldn't be able to reach any flies?
Or do you think they would get too hot?

They both have the Rambo Sweetitch Hoody.

Thanks,

Liz xx

personally i would plaster them in fly repellent and leave the rugs off. most fly potions dont last long enough for turn out but should be enough for 5 hours in a moving vehicle.

Hi,
you're probably right - I just don't trust fly sprays at all, as I have never found a decent one - though if anyone can recommend one that does work, I'd be very interested. too late for tomorrow, but for future reference.

nettex itch stop is brilliant. one application lasts days. even helped my sweet itch sufferer. even the dreaded horse fly seems to dislike it. downside is any nearby horse not using it gets a double or treble whammy as the flies all migrate to that poor equine. nothing gives total protection but this is best i've found and believe me i've tried them all as my TB mare gallops non stop when flies attack.
