Our first show was yesterday and Ozzy was a very good boy..!

I think i needed to practice a bit more and definitely need to do some running so i can keep up with him...

I took him to mainly socialise with others and get used to being in strange places with lots of other horses.

Unfortunately there was only three entries in the class and we were 3rd... The judge said he was lovely and just needed a bit more experience under his belt, she also said he was slightly dipped in the back...? Is this just because he is young and has not developed any topline yet..?

Those placed 1st & 2nd were very professional and i need to get some tips, especially on the standing square and standing still....! Well done to Donna & Star who came 2nd and showed me how it should be done.!

Excuse the fluffy cover on his chain, but i didn't want him to get a big rub mark on his chin. (I know i'm too fussy - and if i'm honest it does spoil the picture but you learn by your mistakes... Maybe we can do a bit of editing with photoshop and get rid of it...?

Well done at your first show! It's all good experience.

Just a thought - if you're worried about the chain under his chin, you could try a chin strap?

Your wish is my command:

I'm afraid you can still see a bit of where the sheepskin was...but if you cross your eyes a bit you don't notice it

He looks gorgeous! Well done

He looks like a big, strong boy, Nichole - you're definitely going to need your running legs!

Thanks Miska for the brilliant photo editing, that looks much better. I wish i'd asked the man i bought the photo from to do that now before we printed it... Never mind.

Becky - the show was at Brook Farm in Stapleford Abbots. It's only 15 min drive from us so lovely and local.

Kimzi - thanks for the offer of the leather strap, if i decide to go to the Felstead one i'll take you up on that. (i'll have to work on Hubby to let me have another Sunday out - unfortunately he's not keen on me spending my whole weekends with my lovely horses..)

Thanks for all your lovely comments. Nichole x
