Yeats; wasn't he great! I don't often watch racing as it upsets me too much - but he and his jockey were so clearly in another class; his riding was superb and it was beautiful to watch!

For him I could change my 'not breeding from Eva' rule

Have to agree with you..One hell of a horse..Think i would have to win the lottery to be able to afford a breeding on him...

I think it was watching him take his applause like a king, as much as seeing him run! He knows where his rightful place is, and is clearly happy getting there.

It was a pleasure to see. Especially, remembering where they all came from!

I think that he will prob stand at around 10 -15k

and will most likely cover 300+ mares

The best bit was tyhe look on Aidan's face when asked about coming back for a fith time, he was just saying "No, I don't think I ...., I will speak to his owners but ...., I mean I wouldn't want to go through this again" ! That look of horror at the thought of having to keep the horse going for another season and the pressure on him to train him to get another win.

The stable lad has looked after him since his 2yo days and will miss him hugely i'm sure. When Yeats won his second Gold Cup the lad was asked if he rode him out at home, the lad looked at the interviewer and said "do I look like I ride him? He's good but no that good!" (the lad in not, ahem, racing light weight )

What a horse! Wish I could have been at Ascot to see history being made, but at least I watched on TV. And didn't he just know that he was the king And what about Sadlers Wells? What an amazing sire of top class racehorses he has been. Here's hoping that Yeats follows in dad's footsteps
