We are looking forward to another good day out with the boys.

Thanks to all who have helped to organise the event.

Every one who has an arab be it pure anglo or partbred should try to come at least once. It is a relly good show.

Just to say thankyou to everyone at the trak/arab event today for yet another good day out!

To all the people on AL who have arabs who jump, dressage, x country you should make the time to have a go at this competition next year.

We just took the two "Ginger things" and they did two dressage tests each.

Ginger (big) won the novice and was second in the elementry (he thought that canter from halt was the done thing, not today!).

Ginger two (little) was second in the walk trot and second in the prelim. At this his second ever show we were very pleased.

Arabs did well and it was lovely to see so many stallions all competing against each other.

We also went with two horses - Toman and Basra - this is their first Sports event, so we didn't really know what to expect etc.

It was a FABULOUS day and I can't thank Denise and Freda enough for making us all so welcome and helping us along

There were lots of lovely horses there, a few Arabs as well BUT where were all the people who post on AL and those who bleat on repeatedly that no-one puts events on for their horses whether they are Arab - Part bred or Anglo. This event was supported by the AHS, so I urge you all to get off your proverbial and make the trip next year - it doesn't matter how experienced or inexperienced you are - you will be made most welcome.

Hey our Novice mare Basra, was broken by my daughter last summer, she's worked gently and steadily with her and today she also did the Prelim class and came 3rd with a very credible 65.2%. On this occasion she was ridden by our good friend Chloe Hird whilst Kate had Toman.

We managed, dressage, sports horse class and Toman did the Stallion display. No pics of Toman but some lovely ones of Basra and Chloe.

Basra and Chloe - dressage

Basra and Chloe in the Sportshorse class.

Just proving an in hand horse, can progress to being a superstar ridden horse

Yes, well done to Denise and the other organisers and to everyone who got there. It was very enjoyable and I was sorry to have to leave early (being "Mum"!). I'm even more sorry that I couldn't have Marcus there but it would have been irresponsible in the circumstances - just a week too early for us.

Echoing the above comments. well done Denise for having the determination to put this event on.
I really had no idea what to expect and I have to agree with Judith that this event is an excellent showcase for what horses can achieve beyond the in hand showing and ridden classes we see at most shows. I was asked to introduce the stallions for their parade and was pleased with the participation of the "crowd" There were some excellent stallions forward and the displays were very interesting. More support in both the number of competitors and helpers would make this event a really important one in promoting the arab and trekahner breeds.
There was a good spirit amongst the people attending the event - they were very friendly and were both willing to ask and answer the various questions that were raised both at the stallion parade and around the various rings.

Make a note of when the next event takes place and as Judith so ably put it - get off the proverbial and try to support it - you won't be disappointed

Lovely to read and glad you all had a brilliant day. Sadly, we couldn't make it because Evie and Heron are being fast tracked through the JRN programme in British Eventing and we were competing. (Tongue in cheek remark - some of us weren't there cos we'd been off our backsides since 2am getting ready and travelling to compete to try and take a step towards that magical place on the National team - with an Anglo Arabe!)

Very glad to hear that the event went so well, a testament to all the hard work and planning that went into it. For us, it would be a round trip of nearly 700 miles - a bit too far, considering that we are going out week in, week out performing in open competition. Hopefully, the event will go from strength to strength and that it will encourage more people to get out there and see what their Arabs can really do.

Hi Sarah

Sorry to say we didn't see the x country as we had to get back (24 horses at home to sort out!) so cant comment.

Philip
I thought that the stallion display with the questions and answers was in fact a very good idea! Much more personal i thought!

Templars
I know that you would have gone if you could!!! I think of all of the AL members you have to be the most dedicated to your chosen discipline, and Evie with a British flag would be the most wonderful advert for the breed! You go girl

Denise I am really sorry I didnt make the event - I had mentally pencilled it in but realised to late that I had entered Plum for affiliated dressage - so although I wasnt there I was flying the flag for the Arabs elsewhere - gaining a few BD points long the way :). Will definitely put it in the diary for next year - no excuse really when I am just down the road.

Jude - Basra looks great - well done.

Congrats to all - sounds like a great day.

Nicky - your gingers were fab, they are turned out to perfection and we hope to aspire to your league in time. In the meantime we are having great FUN and let's face it that's what its all about

pintoarabian, believe me I do know how far the Scottish contingent would have to travel to this event but know you promote your horses north of the border

Sally - LOL, shame on you and only down the road but I am sure you also would enjoy the day, everyone is SO friendly and there to enjoy their wonderful horses.

Sally/Rach1, thanks for your kind remarks re Basra - well she really is such a wonderful mare - after the Arab Trak event yesterday, she had a well earned sleep and was up bright eyed and bushy tailed to head to the Three Counties show - she entered the in hand in the morning with Kate, she stonked round the ring causing quite a few gasps at the ringside - even Kate managed to keep up with her. Oh she gained a very credible 2nd. Then off to be tacked up and entered the ridden ring, this time with Kate and altho only a few forward she was awarded a first prize - even with fireworks exploding and parachutes descending into the main ring. The placings are immaterial, she and Kate are learning from the experience and gaining in confidence along the way.

What a VERY special lady she is Kate's not bad either

Think she's having a day off tomorrow

Thank you for your complimentary and encouraging comments, those of you who took part seem to have enjoyed the Event
we had competitors from Flintshire and Middlesex taking part, so we hope more of you will consider joining us next year in order to celebrate your Arabian performance bloodlines.
I would also like to thank the AHS for their recognition and support.
