Claire had a severe accident in the collecting ring at HoCoN this morning. She was taken to hospital and apparently she has a lower back injury. Best wishes for a good recovery.

Hi i was not at HoCon, but i have heard from a friend who spoke with Viv, Claire was taken to Colchester hospital and has broken a bone in her back. Spine is OK, but she will be in hospital for approx 6 weeks on complete bed rest. Speedy recovery Claire, and get well. |

All the best to Claire for a speedy recovery.
There seems to be a run of nasty accidents recently. On the same subject, I would like to wish fellow show competitor Caroline Wareing all the strength and courage for the coming months. She had a similar accident at Staffs County in the hack championship and has suffered damage to her spinal cord and is paralysed from the waist down. It really does make you appreciate every moment with our beloved companions as you just never know what is round the corner.
Our thoughts are with you Caroline and family. Much love.xxx |

Katie Jerrome is also in hospital after an accident in the horse walk at Suffolk county and there was a horse box fire at Midland Counties this weekend - child and two dogs left in it unattended - all safe thankfully! Hope everyone got home OK after HoCoN - we left Sunday morning just after Claire's accident and most of the journey was horrendous with heavy rain. The local roads round Braintree were like rivers and we thought that maybe we would need the kayaks on the roof after all! |
