Posted on behalf of Celia Chappell: Being the very proud owner of Malik Ibn Rossali (Ali) the Grey Gelding winner of the Novice class, also Novice Champion and then blew us all away by taking the Reserve Overall Ridden, galloped for the first time, all this at just 4 yrs old.
This boy was home produced by Wendy Chester (not professional) who unfortunately moved to Jersey last weekend so missed the show, she backed and brought this boy on to the standard he is at, Wendy I and Ali cannot thank you enough.
David Froggatt – Well what a rider and what a partnership that is developing here, only 2 outings, Northallerton (19th April) took 1st and Reserve Champion, Aintree Novice Gelding 1st, Novice Champion then Reserve Overall Ridden, No pressure David, but what are you going to do next?
Thanks to all those spectators who cheered my boy and all the wonderful comments, even on the Sunday, from people I have never met, it is heart warming to have such support.
Thanks to the “transport team” Sandra and Daniel with whom I couldn’t attend these shows. Thanks to the “grooms” Dave and Ben, especially Ben, who loves to see me cry!
Not forgetting Janine McGregor who trained Ali for the in hand last year, 4 outings, top 3 everytime, with 3 different handlers, thanks to Raymondo and Daniel for stepping in when Janine couldn’t show him. I’m sure the ring craft he learnt doing the in hand has helped him take to the ridden so effortlessly.
The biggest thanks has to go to Malik Ibn Rossali himself for having the biggest heart and disposition to do what we ask of him so well. Bless you my baby, I’v waited a life time for you.
Thanks again to David Froggatt for riding my special boy and long may the partnership last.
Celia - a very proud 'Mum'
