Well, I think it would be a stunning cross but am very very prejudiced as you might gather. I bred Antham to be very beautiful, very showey and very sweet...He is all those things and beyond a shadow of a doubt it is the UK blood that is locking in that incredible Je ne sais quois quality. So think you should give one of the Carmargue's a shot first and foremost to mitigate some of the hotter US blood in the pedigree...and here is why...Antham's sire line, of course, is Nazeer which you would double by breeding to Rose with the result you would have multiples of Nazeer blood throughout the pedigree. That tends to be very hot and sometimes when in over-abundance, leads to leg faults. Conversely the Skowronek blood tends to be very correct, softer, quieter, sweet yet business like and that might be a bit easier in a first time foal.
CMJ! Thank you! |

Have had something kind of odd fun happen that effects one of the threads participants!
This past year I bred Carabella to the Res. Junior Polish National Champion, Equifor (see pedigree below). Mrs. Parkinson has been a tremendous supporter of great Polish lines so wasn't too sure how she would react to such a mix as Carabella...and she is over the moon about the mating! So she was telling me she was particularly interested because a mare she had bred, was bred to Carmargue and she had always wondered about the Carmargue foal she had had! The mare was none other than Bint Shantu Halima...Charismma's dam!!!!! Anyway, Lynda have given her your web page to peruse and she would love to meet you if you come to Scottsdale!

Thank you Gari for your honesty, its refreshing to hear stallion owners giving the wider picture. So when the time is right it sounds like i should try the Camargue route initially and then perhaps Antham the following time ( at least it gives you plenty of time to organise the semen!). HAs he covered anything with similar blood to Rose, id love to see any pictures if and when he does.

Hi Nikki,
There are no strain names showing on the website as I am seeing it... (???)
Emma,
Thank you, Emma. Have not covered any mares similarly bred to yours as yet. Will enjoy posting those pictures! I didn't breed him this year as I wanted to concentrate on his showing but next year he should cover a goodly number from which to compare! |

That is very dear of you! Don't know what the issue is but it is probably the age of this silly laptop! Wonder if others are having the same problems. The site is terribly important if only for Bint El Bahrein and Nuhra...You might want to post those sites?
Edited to add: Eureka!!!Figured it out...just put in the next number to see each strain...#4 is the Krush! #5 Kuheilat Aafas and so on to 20:
Here is #1 and go from there: http://www.bahrainroyalstud.com/1.htm

What a super thread, it's taken me ages to read through....and only half way there now! Although I'm pretty sure I have chosen her prospective husband for 2008, I'd love to hear opinions on what anyone would suggest for my mare. www.allbreedpedigree.com/rohara+faberge
I LOVE Antham by the way! |

Me again Please could you advise me of some prospective future husbands for this lovely lady. She has been Mare of the Year at HOYS twice, and her owner is contemplating putting her in foal.

Hmmm...
Would expect that this mare, Rohara Faberge, a Menaghy dam line/Nazeer sire line via Aswan, with is very very sweet, scopey, possibly a bit long, lovely sweet eye, marvelous mover. Think she would nick very well with a combination of Shaklan/Carmargue blood like Om El Shaheen, Rusleem, my guys, LVA Maximus, KZ Ibreez, Ardres. You have in that dam line a wealth of great horses, some very very nice motion. Just an excellent individual all round.
Am sure if Antham met you Sam, he'd love you, too! |

Just caught this thread again Gari and read your post about Mrs parkinson breeding Bint Shantu Hamila, is that Mary Jane Parkindson? I dont think I will be coming to Scottsdale as I want to go to Dubi next and OH will only put up with so many overseas visits without him funny enough I have just asked Bint Shantu's last owner for a picture of her as I want to add it to allbreeds, and she will send it shortly. I am having my Web page updated so there is not much on there at the moment I would however love to talk with her about the mare and I wonder if you would give her my e mail address? anyway thanks for highlighting that, and for all the education you give regarding pedigree's |

Hi Egbert,
I hope you are well and not working too hard!!
Can you please look at this marriage and give me an opinion? What do you think the resulting offspring will be like?
St Narreth King Dancer (St Narreth Gay Dancer x Moulton Santora) x Black Bess (Samyr x Ksenia)
Thanks

Wow...everything there spot on! She is also a very versatile allround riding mare, I'd love to onsider a stallion such as Charismma for her in the future too
Can I be cheeky and ask one more? What would you expect from this breeding....I'm really exited about it!? Judals Shakaya www.allbreedpedigree.om/judals+shakaya H Tobago www.allbreedpedigree.om/h+tobago |

Sam,
This should be a stunning foal-super exotic, very upright, more Seglawi looking than one might expect out of a Kuhailan and by a Kuhailan line stallion....Think Teeba will come through very strongly as they are double Teeba....but the exotic via Nazeer through so many outstanding individuals should be a bit boggling.
Am looking forward to seeing that baby!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! |

Thanks and a Merry Christmas to you Egbert!
The mare - Misti, is to be covered with this stallion in the Spring so will be due about April/May 2009. She hasn't had a foal to this particular stallion before, but has produced some other lovely foals in the past.
The stallion - Kalif, has produced some stunning babies for my friend who owns him over the years and you are spot on about they type that is produced! All his chestnut babies are chunky and robust, with great all round ability. The two grey babies that he produced were lighter and more refined, but really tall! The reached almost 15.3hh, where the chestnut babies stopped at 15.1hh/15.2hh. They all have the most amazing natures and would do anything for you.
The reason I am having this particular baby is that I had the mare on loan from my friend for 7 years and in that time, we achieved so much together. She jumped really well (the biggest I had the bottle for was 3'3"!) and she was so elegant and beautiful to watch in showing or dressage. Not that she partiularily liked either, but she is the kind of mare that will just get on with it for you. I adore this mare and have begged and pleaded on a couple of occasions to buy her, but sadly my friend won't sell (who can blame her?!), so the next best thing is a foal from her, especially with Kalif as I love him and his attitude too.
I will of course post photos of this baby as soon as it hits the ground!
Thanks again
