My old PBA has Farette as her great grand dam. Farette was bred with Indian Magic which gives you mares grand dam, Fairy Magic and she was bred with Manto which gives you my mares sire, Magento. It is lovely to see photos that have been posted, I too would love to see one of Farette! |

Hi, we had Farette Gold (by King Cotton Gold x Crystal Farifi) at the stud where I spent five years backing youngsters after the untimely death of Linda Hannaford, who bred Old English Arabs for performance. Farette was small, only about 14.1 or 14.2hh and had a particular bond with Samad, Linda's chestnut stallion (by Diamond Star). They had some super offspring including two brothers, Khalif and Safahd (who I backed four or five years ago). They are almost identical bays with the white blazes and three white feet, and belong to two great friends in Hertfordshire who once did the pairs on them at Malvern. I'm afraid human babies have intervened so they only did that once but they're like twins! After Linda's death Farette was backed and sold for riding. She was sold on again a year or two later when outgrown and I believe is still in a village near here. The new owners were approached with a view to taking her to the Crabbet convention a couple of years back but not being in the Arab world they didn't realise what important bloodlines they had and declined. She must be nearing 19 or 20 now. |
