Does anyone know about Hakim?
My OH used him on a TB mare in about 1980 and he had apparently been Ridden Nat Ch but we can never find any reference to him. He was by Haroun. |

Helen, I found a Harkem 1972 (Haroun x Sundance) he has two progeny listed on allbreeds - Bint Masra (x Masra) and Dana Abyat (x Lady Mirabelle) - he's not listed on the trophy. Hope this helps. |

Thats him, thanks. OH has told me off for not spelling it correctly, but i was at work and trying to use my memory!
Don't know anything about him though?
He was owned by Judy Ecock from Herefordshire and apparently kept meeting another sucessful horse that seemed to win everything. This was around 1981/2/3/4 and won at Malvern each year, always ridden.
He had mares visting from all over the country, someone must know of him! we did use to have his stud card but i think it has been thrown away now. |

Does anyone know if Ludomino was ever National Champ? My YO has a lovely shot of him and her in the ring mid 60's...she broke him in. He was an absolute superstar, with a habit of rearing when he came out of his stable, then land and look all innocent! She absolutley adored him. |

The Carpenters did have Ludomino. What a lovely boy he was. There is a website for the Carpenters in France but unfortunately I do not have it. I did see it on here on a post, I think to do with an Ahmoun gelding. I can ask Tina Cooke next time I speak to her as she had one his most famous sons, Ahmoun.
The Carpenter's website is on Owners needing information under Silver Domino. |

Helen RR - I know where Harkem is - if he's still alive? Hes owned by Judy Simpson (? think that correct) I last spoke to her several years ago & prob still have her contact details. She has/had (I think shes retired from horses) near Leominster, Herefordshire.
Let me know if you want her details.

To try and save this thread going off the page again I can't find any pics of this boy under saddle BUT I know a person who might let me have one - in the meantime here is one of VAIN HUSSAR who won the trophy in 1987. Just to mention that Vain Hussar is a grandson of Argos
I think we are still looking for pics of the following - so if anyone has any or can point us in the right direction. 67 Count Ambrino 70 Cranleigh Red Shadow 89 Kahtani 90 Ben Hurr 93 Paramount 94 Hadeir 96 Maxim Ibn Rialla 97 Sisyrinchium 98 Sword of the Sky 99 Nazdromal |

Anfi: We took the photo of Sisyrinchium - at Wales and West quite a few years ago - that's our (fading) signature just visible in the corner.
Correction re Clarion: Owned by Major and Mrs T W I Hedley, ridden by Caroline Nelson.

Back to HARKEM - not quite the same thread but there is a lovely article involving HARKEM in the AHS News dated Spring 1980 No.52, pages 52/53. With pics - a definite Haroun son. |
