Hi does anyone know about the breeding of a mare which i bought a couple of years ago. She is Linetta Roxane. Pure bred Sire Ludriss and dam Linet, I know that she was raced when she was 5 and was placed 3rd in each race. She is about 14.2. She is chestnut with two white hind socks and a small star on her head. She has a wonderful temprement. I would like to know what breeding lines she is by and whether any of her relatives have been successful in anything.

Hi
A quick look at her pedigree shows that she is basically English x Polish with at least 3 crosses to Blue Domino:~
LINETTA ROXANE f.1990 strain: Seglawieh Jedranieh (family of “Milordka”)
Sire: Ludriss ch. f 1977 Sire: Ludo (Blue Domino x Rithyana) Dam: Moulton Indyana (Indriss x Golden Dove by Ludo)
Dam: Linet ch. f 1980 Sire: Halma (Blue Domino x Parthia by Shifari) Dam: Linnea (Iridos x Litwa (imp Poland) by Litaur x Lafirynda by Miecznik)
Best wishes
Caroline

Nat,
Linetta Roxane was third on both her race starts as a five year old, then didn't run again till Larkhill 1999 as a 9 yr old where she was 7th of 17 (not a bad result I was 15th in that race as my mare threw a tantrum, whilst the mare who came 2nd I have now bought)! In 2000 she ran 9 times when owned and trained by Matt Farrelly, her best results that year were 3rd at Lingfield Park over 1 Mile 4 Furlongs, but she ran her best race when beaten less than a length over 5 Furlongs when third at Goodwood. Quite a speedy mare, I have the race review for 2000 and can send you a copy of her results if you e-mail me your address.
Quite a good mare for breeding performance stock - endurance or racing. Lots of performance stallions in the 2004 Race Stallion review on the racing section if your interested. She had a reputation for being quite speedy!

Hi thank you, she is still speedy but now usually when my daughter is jumping her. Its funny considering she has been raced she has the most even nature for a pure bred mare that i have known. She is a dream to own. I would love to breed her but i think it might be a bit late now that she is 15 and not had a foal. We took her to stud last year but it was misjudged by the owner when was the right time to cover her. The proble being is she is about 14.2 and my daughter has outgrown her so she just plays around on her really. We was going to sell her but couldnt bare to even though we have only owned her ourselves for a couple of years. My email address is nataliepix999@hotmail.com. i would be grateful if you could send me it on. Many thanks again for any information you can give or have given. |
