Hello,
Does any one know anything about the above horese (Rahjeel Eastern Promis & Shahrilm), they are the parentsof my little horse Ashkara. I wanted to find out a little bit about her. I know her mum Shahrilm was out of Al Hakkim and Shahkara and her dad was out of Eastern Sheer Magic and Estern Glistening gold, but this does not really mean anyhting to me as i am new to the Arab world. Just wonderd if she is from good breeding.
Thanks in advance

Hi I spoke to you on the phone. Rahjeel Eastern Promise was a race winner and went on to do endurance before going to stud. He is from Grojec lines and has very good race/endurance breeding. Shahrilm is by the famous Al Hakkim out of Shahkara who was out of Kyrenia. This makes her the 3/4 sister to Hakka, who I think everyone has heard of in the uk arab world(well nearly anyways). You have a very well bred filly who should do you proud in the ring or as a performance horse. If you need any further information give me another call. Or you can look on my webshots to see a pic of Rahjeel. http://community.webshots.com/user/rhazi1988 |

'Eastern' was the unofficial prefix used by El Teide Stud in Lincolnshire, owned by a lady who was called Jill Baggaley when I knew her (she has since remarried I believe). Eastern Sheer Magic - 'Ned' - was by Sheer Bravado who if I remember correctly was a half brother to international champion Sheer Magic. Ned was a big bay horse, very active, who sired all of the last purebreds I saw at Jill's place. Eastern Glistening Gold I don't particularly remember (Jill had a lot of very similar looking chestnut mares!), but I suspect she was by Glistering Phaeton, a stallion Jill had on lease who was a true Arab gentleman, with the kindest nature.
Jill's horses where what I would call 'grassroots' Arabs - not likely to win at Towerlands but doing a much more important job in being sane, sound riding horses - exactly the sort of Arab needed to promote the breed here in the heart of hunter country!

Thanks for the info, i dont realy care how good she is, (well maybe a little) as she is special to me and i love her any way, i just wanted to find out a little about her back ground. She has the most fantastic nature. She is only three and you can do absolutly anything with her.
Have a great weekend.
