Hello Sapphire
What kind of information are you looking for? I can trace their pedigrees back through the stud books if you want them. By the way, Barwna was bred by Lord & Lady Moyne but you may already know this. Let me know how I can help.
Kind regards

Hi , CJ I know their pedigee from allbreeds but don't know anything about them at all, I didn't know who had bred Barwna. I'd love any info you could get on any of my lads relies if you have a look under Satin Moth on www.allbreedpedigrees.com you'll see his line. I've got all the pics from there but theres not much info and can't find a pic for Barwna or Sapphire blue, would love to know about Sapphire Blue as my name sake!! I'm also trying to complete my set with Pchelka, Panel and panels dam platina, and lastly parfumeria! Any help very gratefully recieved!! Thanks CJ for the pics of Prima, he looks so much like his mum, if you're interested there are some pics of him on here. |
Regards, Sapphire

Hello Sapphire
Pleased the photos arrived okay, at least they will give you an idea what she looked like. I do have 5 photos of Sapphire Blue (with Holly Blue as a foal at foot) taken in 1975 at Yeld Bank Stud by a friend of mine. I don't remember actually photographing her myself but hopefully I will have all my pics on a database in the not too distant future which will make life a lot easier! However, I've found a nice black & white photo of her with foal at foot in a little booklet published by Yeld Bank Stud in around 1976. There are probably some others of her in the Arab Horse Society News too. I've listed some information below on Sapphire to keep you going for now. It will be awhile before I can do anything else as I'm in the middle of changing computers but will write again once I've found anything more. (I'll have all the info on the Polish horses but its just a matter of ploughing through the books and magazines!)
Hope you find this interesting.
Best wishes
Caroline

I remember some years back the Crabbet Influence ran an article on the Plakat Barwna cross which produced the wonderful full siblings Tamarek(as above) Warandes Plakat and Pascha. Maybe there is a photo of her in that article? Barwna and her "Plakat family" are also responsible for the gorgeous Libanon Esplashal by Ibn Estasha out of Warandes Plakata(Plakat) ...out of Warandes Nazeera(Hindi) ...out of Barwna.
Would love to have seen any foals the Watts' bred by Tamarek? |

Hello JSA
Have you any idea what happened to Tamarek? He is registered in Vol 17 (plus the only 5 foals credited to him, see below) but seems to have disappeared after that. No mention in Vol 18 or 19 and can't see that he was exported either.
TAMEREK (foals recorded in Vol 17) 1991 (unregistered) grey colt x Darania. 1991 Satin Moth, bay gelding x Prima Ballerina. 1991 Tamarza, ches filly x Shariza. 1991 Tambour, ches colt x Bintang. 1992 Karensa, ches filly x Bright Solitaire.
Best wishes

Hi Caroline,
Sadly I can't help with Tamarek I just remember him being imported but thanks for the foal info. Paul Atkinson worked for Halsdon around that time so he would probably know.

Hi CJ and JSA, I can tell you that unfortunately Tamarek died of a severe bout of colic and he had peritonitis, I think he would have been about 14ish I worked out a real shame as such a beautiful stallion, I got the info direct from Shirley Watts. I happen to own one of Tamareks off spring, Satin Moth CJ mentioned above, if you want to see him there are 4 photos under my name in the photo section on this website, I keep trying to put him with my signature but fail!! |
Regards, Sapphire
