Hi,
I am trying to trace pictures/information on the following horses, they are my mares dam and sire and are the only horses in her entire pedigree that i cannot find information on (which is very very frustrating):-
Sienna Sky - Banat x Sapphire Sky (p.s. i would also like pictures of Sapphire Sky as well) i know that both Sapphire and Sienna Sky were shown in the UK, i am told that Sienna came reserve champion at Haydock but i dont know the year
Merlynn - Admiral x Speshka, all i really know about this man is that he was in Russia and i believe he raced, although he must have been imported to the UK in or around 1991. The Arab horse society wouldnt give me his last known address so i havent been able to trace him any further. (He was Chestnut if that helps anybody)
I have checked most websites and i cant find much on these horses, apart from the fact that they did exist, and i have also asked Maralynn Sweet to look through her archives which she has kindly offered to do.
Does anybody else have any other ideas on how to trace these horses, are any records kept from Haydock? or do you know anybody that owned these horses.
I would be grateful for any ideas.

ok,
i will look through old catalogues etc to see what i can find, also Haydock results used to be "published" in the AHS news - have you any idea of years at all?

sienna sky is in the 1993/1994 stud directory as owned by Mr , Mrs & Miss Duffy - Axholme Arabians - south yorks.
& in the 1997/98 as owned by Ms F Williamson, but leased by Mr W J Watts - Linwood Anglo Arabs
I suspect as she was born in 1976, - unless she won as a Veteran, her win was probably before i have catalogues.

If you write to the AHS enclosing a stamped letter to be sent on to the last recorded owner they will do this for you. I tried to trace a horses previous owner and although they would not give out the address they sent the letter on for me.
Worth a try!! Then its up to the owner if they wish to reply. Mine did!! |

Thanks so much for all your help, i was starting to think they didnt exist, it seems funny that i can trace everything else but the most recent ones??
My mare was born 1991 at Axholme Arabians who have sold up i believe, i dont believe they really showed in-hand so i would think Sienna would have been shown prior to 1991, in saying that my mare was meant to be shown as a yearling, so they might of had a spurt of showing in 1992???

Hi Again
Just thought i would let you know that the AHS have offered to pass on my details to the current owners of Ambers Dam, who is still alive at the grand old age of 29, they are also going to pass my details on to the x owners of her grand dam, Sapphire Sky, who aparently died this December at the fantastic age of 41, So thanks for the advice and fingers crossed they will reply to me.
