Hi everyone, i was wondering if you know anything about Rio Grand Persian Gold's sire-Gleam of flame or dam-Meliha bint mafariha because i would like to know every thing i can about Rio.
hi, gleam of flame. (silver flame x bright flame) i think they are crabbet? sorry not much to go on but i have a g. daughter of gleam of flame and cant find any info on him! maybe a crabbet breeder can shed some light?

Meliha Bint Mifaria Bay Mare 1972 by Grojec (Comet x Gastronomia by Marabut): out of Mifaria (Oran x Rithyana by Raktha).
Gleam of Flame's line traces back to all GSB lines. As does Mifaria, the dam of Meliha Bint Mifaria.
Hi Angloarab I have a daughter of gleam of flame she is out of masbut Bint malika If you want to know more about the sire if you write to the arab horse society they will pass on a letter to the owner of flame.I beleave they are both crabbit
GSB stands for the General Stud Book, where thoroughbred horses are registered. Jane Kadri has written an excellent article about the Arab inclussion, which can be found if you click on the stud book/farms directory section on this site.
To put it in a nutshell, the original imports by the Blunts etc were accepted into the GSB, and this was carried on by Lady Wentworth. Therefore all lines tracing back to the animals registered in the GSB are said to be of GSB lines.
I'm sure if Jane reads this, she will surely add to it.
AA Looked back through the archives and found a post about names being connected to your horse rio I think Mrs A Keats owned the dam as she owned the dam to my mare I wrote to her but never got a reply.I believe that mrs D Bruce may have owned the sire Gleam of flame hope this is of some help
