Hi - I'm new on this forum, having just bought my first arab! I'm really keen to trace her history - so far I've traced her pedigree, but being new to the whole arab thing it's just all a blur of names to me!! Anyway my mare is Amira Bahiya. Her sire is Saroukh ( Mudassah x DP Black Sarong) and her dam is Amira Camellia (Zacaria x Amira Looli). If anyones had any info about any of these horses that would be fantastic - I'd be really interested to know whether my mare has had any foals, been shown etc (obviously I'll chase up her old owners as well), as I've bought her purely as a riding horse. Fab website and forum by the way!!

She has a full brother a year younger and he is called 'SHADLI' also dam covered in 97 by a stallion not in ahsb No entry in the last stud book for your mare, but I will check on the data source for you, and see if there is any more info, and edit this post.
Welcome to Arabian Lines, and the world of 'OBSESSION'

Thanks!Any info gratefully received! I know my mare is in stud book 1996 if that's any good to you - I'm just really interested to find out what her (and her relatives) history is. And yes - it is totally a world of obsession. I know feel like I'm on intimate terms with the Fadl's and Silver Scenario's of this world, as I sit making my eyes square on this blessed computer. Still, I have no idea what's happening on Eastenders - good or bad thing??!!! |

Hi Miranda
Saroukh, the sire is located in Devon with Pete and Tracey Wainwright. They have owned him since a youngster. He has had and is still having a very successful show career. He has won many in-hand classes and championships aswell as now in ridden classes and has won many of them too. He has qualified for HOYS for many years and i believe is attending again this year. He is a lovely dapple bay with black points and has manners to die for, not at all stallion like. We too have one of his daughters Shanaara and she is black and has bred a cracking black colt by R Ali Bey. He does seem to throw lovely temperments and i for one was devestated when she gelded one of his sons, Shaq, who is also black as again he was lovely. As previously mentioned, Shadli is a chestnut version of the black Shaq and he too has had a good show career in-hand. This is a lovely bloodline and breeds pretty, good tempered, ridable arabs. If you want anymore deatils, i can waffle for hours, so just let me know. |

Miranda, just caught up with this thread.
Your mare was bred by Val Tripp from Cornwall, Val Tripp bought Amira Camellia from me as a yearling. She was starting up her stud in Cornwall, I have no idea where she is now. (divorced or something) I will send you the phone number of Tracy Wainwright, who still owns Saroukh, he is going to HOYS this October, so look out for him.
Amira Camellia is by Zacaria, go on our web page and he will appear as the chestnut on the intro page.......We bred him, he is by Silver Scenario. Zacaria won at National level in-hand,, but was so laid back, he became a ploddy riding horse......now gelded and sold to a lovely lady in Suffolk for riding. Camellia's dam was Amira Looli, very old Babson breeding, she was the dam of El Kabah, who bred some very typey stock, that also do well under saddle. Which is why we love the dam line, especially the tail female line, of this old Babson line..........breeds good riding horses, and pretty ones too Won't bore everyone with all the breeding lines........which I could so will send it all to you. I think, I have found a photo of Camellia with her mum, will send it to you.

Zacaria was a mix of mainly Polish and Babson egyptian, (through The Shah) Silver Scenario was a beautiful grey stallion who was imported to UK from the US, so he was an early import here. We saw him many times and loved his look. Scenario was by Tornado, all US Polish breeding really gets muddled because the Babson Egyptians started off in the US too, they are old Egyptian with a dash of Polish blood way back. We happen to like the look they have. You have an incredible dam line with your mare, she will go with any modern day Egyptian stallion.......or anything really. Just choose a stallion YOU like, not what anyone tells you to use. Go and look at loads and loads of stallions, be honest and tell the stallion owners you are just looking, then go home and write down which one gave YOU the goosebumps which one you liked the best, don't forget the temperament, so many do when choosing a stallion Your mare is a Seglawi type mare......so she should produce some elegent babies. |

Thanx for all the info sue. Part of the reason I'm so interested is that my mare was pretty much a rescue case from what I can gather, which is why I initially thought perhaps her bloodlines were nothing special! She was basically abandoned in a field until the farmer who owned the field asked for her to be removed as it reflected badly on him. Just seems odd to have an arab with reasonable breeding and such a lovely ride and then not use her for anything! |

There you go Miranda, have you read that Saroukh won his class at the British Arabian Champions! Said he was very successful under saddle aswell. I have seen that your mare is ridden, so like father like daughter? A thought for the future! |
