a bull at a birthday party! Here is Sihrabba (Ben Rabba x Desert Magic) trying to eat a peaceful birthday tea with all his field companions hanging around, even a chicken. (He is now a staggering 28 years old)
It made me really laugh the way the bull kept sidling closer and closer thinking I wouldn't notice sonething that size on the move!
ETS - he is ungroomed in the photo owing to the urgency of eating tea before the others snaffled it up - he had a special birthday groom afterwards!

Happy 28th Sihrabba.....and may you have many more.....credit to your Owner, as you are in amazing condition.
Fantastic piccies What a huge Bull...cant possibly be, but, is he an Aberdeen Angus?? Just looked at pic again, no not possible Aberdeen Angus just a small breed of cattle!! Silly me
Your boy seems so happy and contended with his field companions, all respecting it is HIS Birthday treat...but lurking...just in case there may be a crumb left for them!! poor starving creatures they look....I dont think
Ben Rabba was an amazing horse and has left some super progeny to carry on his bloodlines. Your boy certainly looks typical of his stock

He's looking great, and so recognisably a Ben Rabba son My sister has just lost her beloved Red Rabba last week, another gorgeous son of that great stallion. The end of an era. |

Congratulations Shirabba - and he does look wonderful. As others have said, very recognisably Ben Rabba. It is good to know how well his children are doing into older age as I have a grandson and, God willing, many more years to enjoy him. Rowena |

Thank you for your lovely comments everyone, I never got to see Ben Rabba in the flesh but Sihrabba does have the look of him I think. He still does that lovely hovering trot and is just so affectionate.
The bull is such a character - part bred Angus I think - he loves to be curry combed and you can just about lead him in a headcollar (stopping is a bit hit and miss though). He can bronc for England and when he arrives at the gallop with Sihrabba I am quite tempted to run away! He can also jump 5 bar gates when he sees the vet (the bull that is, not Sihrabba).

In this day and age of reading and seeing so many unfortunate horses going through hell, it is so refreshing and uplifting to see happy animals, thank you for sharing these happy pictures with us |
