Due to reading the recent topic re geldings, this has made me reconsider the asking price for both my boys,a stallion and a colt, both advertised on here, Assil-Al-Sheibani and Bahbados.
What are peoples options and opinions re gelding to sell or reducing price to allow respective buyers to geld?
So i have now dramatically reduced their prices to account for gelding and to find a wonderful home for them, hopefully i have done the right thing to give them a better quality of life?

I think they are priced very realistically considering how the market is now.
Many people don't have the facilities to keep a colt/stallion so you may find a wider market if they are gelded?
Couldn't see an age on the advert for the stallion?
Good luck!

Thank's for your replys you two .

Rosie,Thank you......The stallion is a 4 yr old and yes, very reasonably priced to allow him a good future and for someone to geld if they choose to, i hav'nt as he is a sweet heart to do. Luckerly, I have my own yard so he is able to have daily turnout, stabled with others, and leads a normal horsey life which i'm sure has helped him, he has a faboulas kind tempermant.

Margo.....Thank's for your kind words, they mean alot, much appreciated.

Be very careful. I'm a bit confused what you mean, but to my mind asking a low price isn't the way in itself to find either of them a good home, especially as entires. Someone might see it as a cheap way to get a horse to breed with.I would think the best way forward would be to geld them yourself and advertise them as geldings. Regardless of price, geldings have more chance of finding a happy home than entires, especially cheap entires, who might be bought simply because they are cheap by someone who doesn't have the experience or facilities to deal with them.

You could always have him gelded at the purchaser's expense and keep him for a few weeks until he recovered. Many years ago I bought a stallion and had him gelded as I couldn't have a stallion. The owner kept him until he was over the op but I paid for the op.

A few years ago I sold a stallion and the same thing happened; the new owner paid for the op and I kept him free of charge until he was OK to go to his new home. He was like a gelding anyway as he was so laid back and easy to handle but a stallion is always a stallion however quiet they are.

Good luck with finding your boys new homes.

Zan is right as always , but no matter how expensive or cheap , please check the home first, a gelding will have a better life, and so few should actually be stallions anyway. keep the price as it is ,but say you will lower the price upon the gelding once it is proved they have been gelded by notification from a vet , return an agreed amount of money hope that helps .
