Hi,
Can anyone tell me is there a rule on what kind of bridle you turn your Crabbet out in, i cant find anything that says it should be an English bridle. I show my lad in a bridle that i thought was suitable, but was advised today(by the judge) that it should be plain.......

This is his usual bridle

It looks as though you did well anyway (I'm envious of the sash)! I only ever show in leather (flat or rolled, depending on which looks best) as I'm very traditional.

I don't think there is a rule as such but it does seem the norm that crabbets are shown in more traditional bridles.

I enter my Crabbett every year and the judge told me that they are trying to get them shown in the traditional in hand bridle and not the fancy halters. They do not like the use of sticks or posing!
