I was just wondering if there is any way of telling what height my 2yr old pba is going to grow to? Shes standing at around 15hh now but her back end is at least an inch to two inches higher? Shes already outgrown both her parents by 3-4 inches.

Measure her from elbow to fetlock and double it then add fetlock to floor. This has always given me accurate mature heights. |

She should mature at full up 15.2hh Fillies tend not to grow hugely in height after 2yr old. There is always the exception, but I would reckon on that height, or may be another inch at most....15.3hh

Measure from elbow to fetlock, then take that measurement and go from elbow to withers and whatever height the meaurement comes out at is normally quite a good guide |

I was going to say the same as MarionPack but couldn't think how to word it! On my yard we call it the "string test" and it works on any horse over 18 months old. I sort of pivot at the elbow, so the string which was at the ergot will be above the wither and the horse should grow to that height - so you can see how many more inches your horse has to grow. Does that make sense?

Our failsafe test is get a piece of string, run it from the point of elbow to the point of the ergot, KEEP HOLD OF THAT MEASUREMENT BETWEEN THUMB AND FOREFINGER then keep the first end of the string at the elbow and turn the length up to the wither. It will reach to and above it by the amount she will grow to. This has always worked exactly for us; to work, it has to be done only after a horse is a year old. |

What's important is that you measure the elbow - ergot length, then upend/turn it upside down, so it stretches to and above the withers to give you the eventual height when full grown. |
