I've looked almost everywhere now so one last shot, I've emailed Halsdon but they only confirm he was there (tamarek) and that he is now deceased and had a good showing career. I just want to see more info on his career and know more. I now have the 1990 summer AHS News addition any ideas where now?? Thanks

Tamarek RJ (Plakat x Barwna) °1986 Chestnut
National Champion European Champion …
Bred by Robert de Mulder (Belgium) All horses with RJ , A.S. or ASS in their names, where bred by Mr. De Mulder/Asswani Stud (e.g. Saskia RJ, Ass Kendal, A.S. Natsir Apal, A.S. Sinans Pascha)!
Tamarek sired Ass Kendal, who is/was a quite important sire in Belgium! Ass Kendal himself is a first premium stallion who sired several national and international champions. He also sired good racehorses!
I’ve been looking for pictures of Tamarek myself, and unfortunately couldn’t find one! Good luck with the search! (Enclosed, a picture of Ass Kendal)

I spoke to Natalie Hudson today and she suggested contacting Paul Atkinson re this - you can email him at Cullinghurst stud (coincidence - as we got on the M6 northwards today after N Staffs Cullinghurst were heading south with their driving team!). |

Hi,
I would love to see the pictures of Tamarek! I was looking for them, as I've been making some "Picture-family-tree" of our horses! He appears several times in the pedigree of some of our horses, but could never find any pictures of Tamarek 'till now! I would really appreciate if you could scan them for me!
A big thank you in advance!
Regards, Emmely |

Tamarek was a succesful showhorse (European champion, All Nations cup champion,...)before his export to the UK (end 1990)to Shirley Watts. Mid-end 1991, he was gelded. The reason why never became clear. He was then sold as a riding horse. Tamarek therefor only has a handful of offspring, 9 to be precise. |

Thats very interesting, when I asked Halsdon there was no mention of his being sold or gelded but he must have sired my horse in the year before he was gelded and sold, seems odd as S. Watts loved him to bits and rode him often was that where he was sold from, where to? Hi Emmely I will scan them in, may not get it done before I go away, but check after Thursday as will be with a scanner then!! Also if you try MSNs Arabian club there is a thread in there from Argos Sapphire (me) and there is a picture of Tamarek scanned in will post the name of the thread for you, what is your horses pedigree out of interest, mine is probably a distant relation!! |

Hi,
I worked for Halsdon in 1995/1996 and Tamarek was stabled at Shirley's private yard at her house. Hope this helps work our your timing!
Laura.
PS He was a lovely boy! |

I have been trying to remember - when I first read this thread I was surprised to read that he had been gelded as in my mind I thought he was still a stallion. Can't say for sure, but I am thinking he was entire at that time? |
