Welsh Regional Group of the Arab Horse Soc. is delighted to announce the inauguration of its - Award of Honour.
This prestigious award, which will be presented at the Group's Regional Show on 16th May, recognises the contribution made to the Arab, Anglo Arab and Part Bred horse by individuals the Group has chosen for commitment, dedication, support and enthusiasm for the Arabian Breed.
The Chairman of the Group, Sue Jones said " The Group has for some time felt that i wanted to acknowledge the achievements of those who have worked so hard on the behalf of the Society's members and whose efforts are sometimes not recognised enough by the Society."
This Award which will be presented annually, in two categories. The first is the past and present members of Council and Honorary Governors and the second category is for members of the Society or people who have made a significant contribution to the Society. The Group is presenting a trophy, a certificate and a cheque for £100 to each winner. The Awards will be presented by Miss Susan George and Mr Simon MacCorkindale.
The recipients of the first Awards are Miss Margaret Evans and Mrs Maggie Court. Margaret Evans is a past Council member, was and Arab Panel judge for many years, a member of the Stud book and Registration Committee and imported the first Russian Horses into the UK. Maggie Court is know as the " members friend " as she is the Office manage of the Society, is in charge of membership and for many years has helped organise the advertisements for the Arab Horse Society News.
