Has anyone had their car windows tinted - either DIY or professionally?
I'm looking into it for my car (Astra SRI 5 door 57 plate) as the sun shades are pretty much useless. Poor Charlotte cranes her neck to try an avoid the sun that pokes through any gaps!
My front windows already have the manufacturer tint up to the legal limit, so I just want behind the B post done.
Any recommendations on companies or DIY kits??
Local companies I've tried so far charge between £150 and £220 for the same job.
I really would not recommend the diy kits...can be really really hard to get right...my OH used to do it amongst other car things. Worth the money to get it done properly...plus will increase the saleability of the car if done properly.
hi, my hubby says same as akitamom, the DIY kits are very hard to get right, you get bubbles in it apparently.......better to go to the professionals sorry i cant be more help Emma x
I thought the pro job was the way to go - now just need to find the right price! Can't believe they vary so much! They all say they remove the wind down windows and heat seal the rear windscreen but I've had over £100 difference in price so far. Guess I'll have to do some research on the films used now - see who uses the cheap stuff!!
