JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW....WE HAD THE OLD MARE PRINCESS PUT TO SLEEP TODAY. VET STILL COULD NOT FEEL A FOAL AND CONFIRMED THAT HER PROBLEM WAS ENCYSTED RED WORM CAUSED THROUGH YEARS OF NEGLECT, AND ALTHOUGH SHE WAS WORMED HERE WHEN WE GOT HER 2 YEARS AGO, AND REGULARLY, IT WAS TOO LATE.
SHE HAD A GOOD 2 YEARS BEING HAPPY WITH US BEING FED, LOTS OF TLC., AND HEAD OF THE HERD. WE ARE TERRIBLY UPSET AT LOSING HER. SHE WAS A DELIGHTFUL MARE AND A JOY TO OWN.
TO THE PERSON WHO REPORTED ME TO THE SSPCA; THEY ARRIVED AFTER OUR VET HAD ARRIVED TO ASSESS HER CONDITION. SHE WAS UNDER VETERINARY SUPERVISION SINCE WE HAD HER IN OUR CARE AND THE SSPCA WERE SATISFIED THAT SHE HAD BEEN WELL CARED FOR.

Cate, I am so sorry to hear that you have lost your beautiful mare. At least you can take comfort in the knowledge that she had a lovely home with you for her last few years.
I will give you a ring, we haven't had a chat for ages.
My condolonces.
