My OH bought me a lovely shiny phone for christmas and I've dropped it down the loo!!!I've taken it apart as much as I can without breaking it but the screen's gone funny! It came on and then went all blue,then turned off,then went squiggly and now zilch!! Any suggestions? Feel really bad as it was a present.
Having taken it apart as much as poss, spread it out in the airing cupboard for a few days to dry out. Worked for me, but phone was never quite right afterwards. Having said that did work for another year or so. Important thing is to dry it asap.
just turned it on again and it seems ok at the moment;lets me go into messages etc so drying it out seems to be doing the trick,just hope its not corroding as I speak!
Good luck Mittens, I did exactly the same thing about 6 months ago, my phone worked for a while, then gave up after two days! Hope yours keeps working. Nicky
It's working!! Bit of condensation on the screen but it's gradually going!! Lets hope it stays that way....also done bra/bucket thing!! I must have the worlds first sony ericsson Wii!!
done the loo and the buckets thing with 3 diff phones my oh warned me to be very careful with my pink one its only been dropped in a pint of beer once! dryed it out and is still going strong!
spoke too soon.....it now says INVALID SIM!!! All flippin day it's worked and now suddenly doesn't want to know!! I've put the sim in and out again umpteen times and still das ist kaputt. taken it to bits again and put in front of heater.I am so peed off (no pun intended)
Oh NO! I thought it was just me that did things like that. I have lost several phones due to water damage (daughter found one and chewed on it when she was about 10 months!!!!Never the same again!). My mum actually put one of hers through the washing machine! That was one of the ones that survived. I think it depends on the make of phone. Good luck
Done that twice and once in the water bucket did all the stripping down and used hair dryer and left in airing cupboard in the towels worked for a long time until I got a new one. Good luck
I bet a nokia 3210 would last a spin cycle!! They don't make 'em like they used to! It's NOW saying "charging illegal battery" again and still telling me to insert sim....which I have; into an old phone!It's by the heater again now
I usually take mine as you can guarantee that's when it will ring!! Only I seldom put it in back pocket and NEARLY had this accident the other day but it dropped jut outside the danger zone!! I made a mental note to be more careful but obviously forgot again!!
It's totally dead! 2 days it conned me into thinking it was ok and now it's just a little sad lump of metal with a mirrored front...all I can use it for is putting my lippy on!!
