First time for Baz and being my first horse first time for me,He is qualified and on the BEVA site, Are there any questions i should ask, is there anything i should be wary of? His wolf teeth are coming but i am very reluctant to have them out if they are not a problem, or should i have them out now? (Baz is three end of April)

Hi - Mara (she is rising 3) has just had her first proper dental session which involved the removal of wolf teeth. One of them was "blind" and growing in a funny direction so it was deemed necessary. The vet came and sedated her and supervised the process, but I must say the dentist was excellent - he is a horseman and rider and explained everything really well. I think the main thing at this age is to make sure that they are completely comfortable in their mouths, particularly if you are to begin bitting/mouthing etc. Other than the wolf teeth removal there was very little else that needed doing and she was absolutely fine a couple of hours later. Hope this helps a bit |

Talk about female prerogative!! i have changed my mind and got the vet to do his teeth just in case, he does need anything major doing, Vet can do it all in one pop and have first aid on hand if needs be, he will be seen on Friday, will keep you posted |

Hi Angel, I had the vet come and take out Rafa's wolf teeth last year as they would have interferred with him taking a bit. I kept them in my handbad because I told they were lucky, so i took them to BAC's and yes I think they are lucky lol. He had the normal equine dentist this year as he didnt really need much work done. See you soon Love Georgina and Rafa |

I had my rising 4 year old's teeth done a couple of months ago and had to have one of his wolf teeth removed (it was displaced and very loose, so came out no probs). Also had a broken cap removed too. |
