I was phoned the other night by someone asking me if I wanted a lift to the AGM. I hadn't heard about it & the friend said, oh, I had a piece of paper in with the Malvern schedule with the details on. Now, I have taken EVERYTHING out of the envelope AND shaken it out - absolutely nothing!
Now, I know that as a Life Member I am only a burden on the Society (having been so inconsiderate as to demonstrate a lifelong dedication to the breed while still in my 20s) , but I can't help wondering...am I the only one, or did other folk miss out on the notification as well?

You are quite right Keren, there is nothing specifically announcing the AGM.
however, on the April 2009 AGM proxy voting form and instrument it does say in very small print that it on is
SATURDAY 4TH APRIL 2 PM
AT HILTON COVENTRY HOTEL PARADISE WAY WALSGROVE TRIANGLE COVENTRY CV2 2 ST
As there is nothing that constitues the correct format for a notification to call an AGM is this now unlawful? |

Keren are you going to follow this up? I have also posted on an different site to see how many people have got a proper notification.
Please can all AHS members post here on what notification they had, as what I found was certainly not correct to call an AGM.
Deliberate mistake????
I certainly hope not!!!! |

I have also found it on the first page in on the annual report and accounts, but I still do no think this constitutes proper notice. |

As usual the Agenda for the AGM was in the Report and Accounts booklet that comes every year. I checked this as soon as it arrived and the notification of the AGM was on the first page.
It did not mention the groups meeting that I understand will be held in the morning.

Yes, generally it is set out in full as a separate document with directions to the venue as well as a form to allow you to book lunch. The AHS has made a nice job of the little news booklet that was enclosed, shame this most important event couldn't be given a prominent place in that!
