So very, very sad.
It is quite ironic that she died on Mother's day...

So sad to hear of Jades passing, and on Mothers Day. She is so very young, and such a shame for her two young sons. Only hope they have caring family around them, to give all the love that Jade had for her beloved children
Rest in Peace Jade........no more pain, you can now be that bright sparkling star, looking down and watching you boys grow into men
Goodbye Jade, sleep peacefully |

Well, according to my doctor, she has left a terrific legacy: they are being inundated now with women finally agreeing to have their smear tests done and young women in particular are taking more care of their health. She may well end up saving many hundreds of lives - and not many of us can say that.

RIP Jade.
So much to live for but taken away so early.
My thoughts today are with her Mother and her two sons.
God bless her.

RIP Jade
Like others, I believe she's left a very valuable legacy in changing the attitudes of many women.
Can someone clear something up for me though please?
I always thought she's never had a smear test until this one where the cancer was picked up. However, I read in a magazine yesterday an article where they were suggesting that she could have sued the NHS because 'all her test results had always been abnormal (implied she'd had more than one), and when she started collapsing and bleeding heavily they should've picked it up sooner instead of telling her she was fine'. (Not the exact words obviously)
So which is it, anyone know? Just curious.
I feel for her boys. It must be awful to lose your mum on Mothers Day, but having lost my dad, it wouldn't have hurt anymore if it was on Fathers Day, nor would any future Fathers Days be less painful.
RIP Jade. You've done a wonderful thing for many women. |

Hi Kelly,
I saw an interview with Jade on This Morning several months ago where the basic gist of her story was that she'd been having abnormal smears from the age of 16 but because she was so young they kept telling her she was fine, nothing to worry about, just hormonal changes etc. Because of this I believe, but don't quote me on this she did say recently that she'd ignored one letter asking her to come in for further investigations as she'd always been told things were ok, despite the fact she had collapsed several times and had really bad abdominal pains at times. Apparently she had been cleared from having ovarian or uterus cancer. I suppose who really knows what way it all was but hopefully she has left a legacy that will lead to lives being saved - she has certainly made people sit up and take notice, but what a tragic end to her story.
Bless her boys and family and may she rest in peace. |

Thank you for that.
It's just terribly sad, no matter the story behind it.
It's something very close to me as my mum has had two sets of abnormal results, 20 years apart, the first when she was only 23, and the second requiring more treatment that the first. She's now got the all clear and back to tests every three years.
As such I will NEVER miss a test and I'm considering asking my doctor to do it more often then the required 3 years. Also told my mum to ask for the same, and will be having same conversation with little sis.
