My 17yo gelding has arthritis and had been tripping a lot, spoke to my farrier and we have put cytek shoes on him now......he is a different horse. here are some piccies

This is hoof with normal shoe on......he also has tendon damage to this leg....

this is the same foot with cytek shoe on

the shoe from underneath

we are going to do more piccies of them when they are due to be redone to see how his hoof shape changes etc........

Put your ass on some class....ride an arab!

Not wanting to cast a damper but not all horses suit natural balance shoes . On my vet/chiropractors advice we put one of my ridden liveries Estonia in these shoes a few years ago and basically they appeared to contribute to making her lame so be careful .

I don't know why you had to quote me again Pauline, as I said I just put what my farrier said in my original post. It was just his view. As Kit says these shoes don't seem to suit all horses, which is also what my farrier told me. I am glad that some people do find them helpful to their horses, but every horse is different :-)

I was just going to ask - what are advantages of NB shoes? Are they suitable for all horses?

The reasdon I ask is if they are so much better for all horses - why are the traditional shoes still used?

My mare is barefoot in winter and shod in front in summer, but I really dislike the damage the constant nailing on does.

Zan - your post made me laugh!!
