In the New Forest today, whilst having a walk with my OH and our 2 dogs.
It was huge and very fluffy and asked the owner what it was as it looked like it was a GSD x. I was somewhat surprised by the answer - 1/2 GSD, 1/4 husky and 1/4 timber wolf. She said some people have said should be muzzled.
Anyway seemed rather friendly and bit goofy (only a year old), so was let off lead to play with ours. Our year old collie ran round mentally with it and our labrador proceeded to discipline it, in his normal alpha way....
It was a lovely dog, not what you expect to meet on a Sunday morning walk in the New Forest

I did have a camera, but with 55kg (she told us weight) of dog/wolf hurtling around with my two we were kind of avoiding being rammed!
There was lots and lots of tail wagging and wheely'ings and my 6 year of lab telling it to behave. He's scared of no dog or wolf come to that! Dog/wolf was suitably chastised by him!
We then went on to get lost in the woods in the hail and rain. Our hour walk became 2.5 hours, but we did have 2 cream cracked dogs at the end!

Wow! I bet he was gorgeous. We were riding on Cannock Chase a few years ago and met someone training their racing huskies. She told us that some horses are frightened of them because they smell more like wolf than dog. Don't know if this is true - ours certainly weren't bothered and we didn't get down and sniff them ourselves!
If the racing huskies were pulling a little sledge they would be SCARY. Have seen them in France doing this, it looks like fun. We were surrounded by 10 cocker spaniels all being walked by the same person the other day. None of them behaved like they'd ever seen a horse before and actually the owner was no better. I kept repeating internally 'no one has been mauled to death by a cocker spaniel'.. Spider stood like a stone horse until they were distracted down a different path as he had to reserve bad behaviour for freaky bits of plastic and the like.

YOu wouldn't have said that if you'd ever met Lucy our childhood cocker spaniel - we didn't go within 5 feet of her basket in the evenings (when she was older) as otherwise she would've had your arm off! I do still have 2 arms luckily!
If I ever see wolf dog again will remember to take photo
