Oh so sorry to hear this.
You and Amanda seem to have the worst possible luck ......really hope you're back on your feet and feeling better soon. Strange I was only at Derriford Hospital yesterday had no idea you were in there - Hope they're looking after you well.
Take care and all the best,
Jane

Hi, I have been off line for a few days and really wanted to let you all know that I went and saw Jane in Derriford on Tuesday.
I told her that so many had posted lovely things on here, this cheered her up to know so many are thinking of her.
They hope to move her to Exeter Hospital soon, but on Tuesday there was no way she could be moved at all. She was very weepy and very tired. An injury to the head seems to make the body slow down to allow everything to recover slowly.
Her scars are quite amazing, her poor head half shaved, Jane being Jane complained she wanted the whole head shaved to even it up, I tried to get a hairdresser to her, but the hospital can't believe she actually wants her whole head shaved She also said why do they keep asking who the Prime Minister is? Why can't they ask me horsey questions
Her skull is fractured in several places and I guess they are worried about the bleed she had on her brain and if she knocks her head again it could then require another operation to place a metal plate in her head.
I do think this will slow Jane down an awful lot now. She is going to take quite some time to get over this but being her she will recover as quick as she can. I think mucking out will be the last thing on her mind and so it should be, this lady needs a holiday, any offers out there please? preferably somewhere hot.

Sounds really bad Sue. What a dreadful thing! I'm always frightened taking youngsters out alone (which you have to do sometime) because of these low flying aircraft.
Jane must just rest, rest, rest and let her body heal. Send her love and very best wishes from us all on here! |

Here's wishing Jane a speedy recovery.
While on the subject of helicopters: Barbara: there ARE rules about low flying, even for helicopters; for example except for the purposes of take off and landing NO CLOSER than 500ft to any person, building etc etc etc. Contact the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and explain the situation you have with your neighbour and his helicopters. They will be able to advise you and if he is being naughty they will be on him like a ton of bricks - and being a millionaire will not help him one iota. |

Jane has had her head completely shaved now and is feeling much better. She is able to walk around although the hospital won't let her ramble around unaided, she is determined to make the SWG AGM.
The RAF investigater has been in to see her so lets hope they sort this matter out quickly.
I always wondered why Jane called herself Cookie, now I know....she is one tough Cookie, hope she still takes it easy once they allow her back home.

Just thought that I would update everyone on Jane (Cookie)
She was hoping to be transferred back to Exeter hospital at the beginning of the week but unfortunately has got an infection in one of the wounds in her head and has had to have another operation. They have managed to clean the infected area and have taken samples to make sure that the infection hasn't spread.
I managed to speak to Jane yesterday, and is now feeling a little better although still no idea of when she maybe transferred back to Exeter.
I'm sure that both Amanda & Becka will be pleased when she is transferred to RD&E, one thing is for sure and that is that they are getting to know the A38 very well by now!
I am hoping to get down to Plymouth next week and see Jane having now recovered from the lurgy that I picked up over a week ago.
Will post another update later in the week once I have seen her.
