to live with me I have just been to see this 17 year old Arab mare http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/manon+bint+tarim belongs to people I know - she was going to be taken to Llanybydder horse sale tomorrow - but now I have bought her She has been the subject of previous posts on AL as she was entered twice last year to be taken to Llanybydder with a foal at foot...but they didn't take her.
Here are some photos I took of her this morning - please excuse the mud - her owner turned her out to let me see her move (&boy she does really move!) & she promptly plastered herself in mud!
I have two PBAs related to her through Manzala. Now then - how many chestnuts does that make that I own
She will be "nanny" to Charlie & Ruby when they are weaned....& of course we have a very handsom old boy who will be very interested!!! lol
I would love to know what % Crabbet she has!

Lovely mare Judith. Theres a slight theme with your horses isnt there? You might have to spray paint Sly so he fits in. |

LOL - poor Sly:)
Manon is a big mare, very well built! I understand that she was ridden when younger & of course her sire was a very famous endurance horse |

Judith you are an absolute Angel
What a wonderful older Lady, but dread to think what may have been her future had she gone to the Sale
Hope she now has a safe haven, for the rest of her days, more pics would be appreciated at a later date, please

Well done Judith, for making sure she will never have to face Llanybydder.
I almost thought it was the mare we were trying to save last month when I first started reading your post - then saw she was chestnut! I am still scanning the Free Ads in case she appears in there.

hi judith, she looks lovely,by the look of her,i bet she powers along ,really using her hocks, like they used to move. Not like an ostrich riding a bicycle.Manzala was down here in devon, and had good crabbet and courthouse mares sent to him.A lady called mary ?had him.i could find out where his ofspring are if you want. |

Another chestnut mare Judith? You can't possibly keep them all. I suggest you send a couple of them to me to help you out! Preferably Polly, Ruby and Maaj!
Seriously, she looks wonderful! What a superb pedigree. And good on you for ensuring that she won't have to go through the sales.
Much love to all.

Ah - ty for your wonderful comments!!!
Well.......I couldn't allow her to go through Llanhybydder could I?!
I saw her advertised for sale a few years ago - but sadly she was out of my reach.....but now I have her & she will stay with me now!
She looks rather "spare" - has been stabled all winter - but she will be out with me & will soon look a different horse.................
Shes a big boned, very solidly built mare - a leg at each corner - built to be ridden/do a days work! Not an airy fairy mare!
I have told Rameed about her & hes very excited!!! lol I think they will go well together & hopefully produce a baby for me to keep!!

Judith I am so pleased you have this mare and that she now has a safe future assured. I do not know her but knew T'rim (Tarim). He was a super kind stallion very gentle, with tremendous bone and of course courage of the highest order. I am sure that Val would be thrilled to know that you have saved one of his "babies". Thanks Judith. Take good care of a special lady.
