Hi...you dont say whether you are looking for livery of your mare, once she is pregnant and up to the point of foaling...or just to foal down and returned shortly after foaling.

Hi Smartie...the time your Mare would need to be away, if all goes normally, would be 4-6 weeks. The mare would need to go to the foaling yard, at least two weeks before her due date and stay, preferably until the Mare has gone through her foal `heat` which usually makes the foal scour.
Some foals need veterinary treatment for the `scour` if it is persistent, so therefore wise, to not move the foal and further stress it, until the scour has dried up.
Foaling Mare charges vary thoughout the Country, and average around £80 per week plus £150 foaling fee. Worth it for peace of mind, if you are inexperienced with `foaling`
Hope this helps

Hi Smartie,
I have two mares arriving on wednesday for foaling down, one is due at the end of this month and the other first week of March,
The price would depend on your requirements full livery/part livery, some people want to do as much as they can themselves but use our premises as we have foaling cameras and an indoor school, great at the moment as it is too wet & slippery to put foals out,
we are in Leicestershire,
